MetroPCS plans vs Virgin Mobile plans?
So I have MetroPCS right now. I pay $49 a month. I just found out about the Virgin Mobile plans - $25 a month. I wanted the Kyocera Loft. So I'm just wondering what the big differences are and which is better. Are the VM plans cheaper because the phones are crap?
What's the catch?

Metro PCS is rather limited in coverage. It is growing but no way better than Virgin Mobile. Virgin Mobile is one of the best prepaid companies and they have a high customer satisfaction in service. Virgin Mobile has the cheapest plan. It is geared for those that text and use the internet but do not talk much. For $25.00 you get 300 minutes per month, unlimited text and unlimited web. So if you text and use internet a lot this plan is for you. If you talk a lot then stick with Metro PCS.
Virgin Mobile uses Sprint Network which is much better than Metro PCS coverage. From what I see the best phone that I have seen a lot of users like is the LG Rumor 2. The Kyocerta Loft is nice but it might be a big wide and big.

I own the loft. It is a cheap phone but not crap..it works pretty good for the price. The Internet is pretty fast on opera mini and it has one app that ties all the IMs (yahoo, aim, msn, etc) together with the email accounts for each, including Gmail and google talk. The app is sometimes slow. Also the phone is locked down to Virgin's software which In my opinion is junk and ugly interface (I believe all phones on Virgin have the same software/apps) but you get what you pay for. If you like to text and email/IM and browse the web then I would go with Virgin mobile. The beyond talk plan has unlimited data, text and 300minutes for $25 a month, if you just want minutes without data/text you can get the paylo plan you get 400minutes for $20.00 a month.
If you are a heavy talker, Cricket is more cheaper than Metro Cricket only is $35 for unlimited mins.
