if you can't do it inside the browser options, try getting Bsecure6.
Bsecure6 is a professional program with settings for internet safety and parental controls and accountability.
Bsecure6 is available online. (See page below.)
To recover deleted history, I would suggest. . . . . . . and this is just a suggestion. . . . . . . use System Restore. System Restore allows you to restore the computer system's "settings" to an "earlier date and time", such as "June 4, 2010 at 10:00pm." To go to System Restore, simply do this on your desktop:
(a) click Start > Run
(b) type "msconfig" (without the quotes)
(c) go to "Tools" tab
(d) select "System Restore" and click OK
(e) follow the directions.

If your using Internet explorer open browser left click on tools ( upper right hand corner) then click on Internet options under the general tab I think the 2nd one down.And Firefox is pretty much the same way open browser left click on tools then click on options click on the privacy tab and set your preferences click OK
