Starcraft 2 question?

I asked this a while ago. Just hoping for more answers. If my macbook pro is running the game on 13 fps and I'm playing multiplayer, will I be able to keep up with someone running it at 60+ fps. Will the units literally move faster at 60 fps or will units move the same but it will just be choppy on my screen? Will they collect resources faster? If I set my settings to low shaders, I get 30 fps and the gameplay is smoother but looks awful. Just want to know if fps affects how fast units move or just how fast they are displayed. thanks.
