Terms of endearment a Mexican man would use?

I am currently involved with a man from Mexico, and he keeps using a term of endearment that I am not familiar with. I am always unable to hear and understand the full word, and can therefore not spell it. But everytime he says it, I swear to god that he's using the spanish word for eight (ocho). Anyone have any ideas to what it could be and what it could mean?

    Maybe you should ask him.

I didn't find any candidates here:

A jocho is a hot dog.

A jarocho is a (male) person from Veracruz.

    Neither one seems likely.
