my laptop is fine, no connection problem at all.

ive tryed copying every wireless and internet options setting on my laptop to my dads netbook but with no success. its getting very annoying now, and im not paying computer shop prices to get it fixed, so any ideas would be much appreciated

lots of sound advice not sure about updating the firmware on the router that's a bit risky!

check the router wireless setup page and make sure the router can see the laptop then disable dhcp if its enable, if you dont fancy doing that set up the laptop with a static lan ip address

right, first of all,it's not the router.it works with your laptop and the new netbook is picking up the signal from it.

in the bottom right of the netbook screen there should be a wireless icon>right click>view available networks>pick belkin>put in security key.

try the view networks first and see if the router is showing there,if it is ,email me if you still cant connect after doing the rest of the stuff

I had the same problem when I moved house, signal strength was 100% but internet would not work in the browser.

I clicked on the windows help tool and did the configurations they told me (can't remember now exactly but it involved changing the internet settings slightly) and it fixed it.

start from scratch an reset ur router, things to watch for are:

that it's using the same wireless standard as ur adapter (G, N or whatever)

that it's using the same encryption standard WEP, WPA or WPA2

that u have the right encryption key

Note: also for the purposes of testing allow the broadcasting of the SSID, granted it will make the netwrok slightly vulnerable but if u have a good encryption key should be fine

Check whether or not there is a firmware update for the Belkins router on the Belkins web site. Install the firmware update to see if that fixes the issue.

If that doesn't work, then go to the Toshiba web site and check whether there are any driver updates for the WiFi adapter in that Toshiba N1000 or not. If so, then download the updated driver and install that on the laptop.

    Good Luck

Try this, can't promise it will work but it sorted out a very similar problem for me.

Go to start, click on run and type in:

    services.msc

Scroll down and look for Wireless Zero Configuration then double click...

Set it to automatic, and then click start. Then Click Apply. If that doesn't work try switching the WZC on and off, and try again.

    I hope that helps you.

If your first router has a LAN IP address of 192.168.1.1, make the second router have a LAN IP address of 192.168.100.1 but make sure they both have the same subnet 255.255.255.0 or 255.255.255.128. Additionally make sure the second router is setup so that the default gateway is 192.168.1.1, and the DNS address, and that the DNS address for the second router is also set to 192.168.1.1. Give that a try, that is how I have my network set up.

goto Control Panel\Network and Internet\Manage Wireless Networks and delete the existing network now search for new networks and add the 1 that you are trying to connect to. done

    you should

1.restart the router and the modem

2.delete the saved network from advanced option then connect to it again

    3. put it as a home network
