Neutrogena is an American brand of products that includes facial products, hair care products, color cosmetics, and products for the skin. Neutrogena had its beginnings during 1930 when its founder Emanuel Stolaroff, founded a cosmetic company known as Natone. It is now part of the United States-based Johnson & Johnson conglomerate, which bought the then-independent company in 1994. Neutrogena's products are sold internationally.
Helioplex is a proprietary name by Neutrogena for a patented formulation of broad spectrum UVA/UVB skin protection containing Avobenzone and Oxybenzone.
Avobenzone containing products have decreasing efficiency after a few hours of sun exposure, but the addition of Oxybenzone reduces the amount of degradation that occurs 1..
Aveeno advertises its products using this formulation under a different name of "Active Photobarrier Complex."
