How can you meet new people on vacation?
I just got to Hawaii yesterday and last year when we came, my brothers, after like 4 hours of being in Hawaii, already made friends with a group of kids their age. One of them actually ended up having a relationship with a girl that he met. Last year all I did was lay out and go running and stuff and it was extremely boring. I really don't know how they met someone so easily. I feel like it would be weird to just go up to someone and be like "hey I'm Kelly what's your name?" Also i feel like automatically the girls they met were attracted to them because they are generally attractive guys, and I'm really not anything special, so I don't know how I'm supposed to just assume they want to talk to me. I'm generally pretty shy until I get to know someone and then I'm okay. I want to actually have fun on this trip. Also this time I have a girl with me who's a year younger and also pretty shy. I'm 14.

haha i met a girl named alesha when i was in aruba and was 15 and i still talk to her two years later. you just have to take a chance and go up and talk to someone, if they are like wtf get away from me its no big deal because you will never see them again. how i met her was i was in the pool throwing a football and i hit her with it haha. i think most people our age on vacation also want to meet kids and i doubt anyone will be grumpy, their on vacation! just find someone your age and go up to them and ask if they want to go do something(ask something specific like go surfing, snokling, ect) and then if you like them after you go do that then ask for their number and you can hangout with them for the rest of the trip. i seriously hung out with alesha every other day for the rest of the trip and it was awesome and im glad i got the guts to ask her to do something with me after i hit her with the football. i think i enjoyed the trip a lot more because my younger siblings are boring and my parents didnt trust them to go off on their own, and my parents just wanted to drink and lay by the pool. me and alesha ended up going scuba diving and on this cool bike ride later in the trip and went to the beach everyday... and drank because the people at the bar across the street served us haha. take a chance though, you wont regret it.

ive been trying to figure this one out for years... the only random people that talk to me on vacation are little kids asking me weird questions):
you could ask your brothers. or you could try just walking up to someone like you said... it might be awkward, but it might actually work especially if u and your friend can ask find something in common with them then ask if they wanna hang out. maybe, seen as theres two of you, you could find two 13-14 year olds who happen to be twins or siblings.
and if you and your friend decide not to talk to other people: you're in hawaii(:

Just follow your brother's foot steps and you'll be alright.Observe and learn from him.
