Which book is better in your opinion: Lolita by Vladamir Nobokov or The Stranger by Albert Camus?
I didn't think there was a question in the world that I could not ask. I guess I stand corrected.

Personally, I think The Stranger is far superior to Lolita. I found Lolita to be really rather over-rated, personally. Whereas I think The Stranger is a literary and philosophical masterpiece. However, that's obviously only my opinion. There is no accounting for personal taste.

Lolita is considered a classic, moreso than The Stranger. However, due to the content of Lolita, some are turned off by the storyline. It depends on if you'd be comfortable with that sort of subject. If so, you might find Lolita more satisfying, but both are great stories.

You can't ask such a question. It's like asking whether white wine is better than red or a symphony better than an opera. One gives one thing, the other another. Both these books are consummate works of art--triumphs of style, with different kinds of profundity. _The Stranger_ (_L'étranger_) is quicker to read and superficially simpler than _Lolita_ but it's not "better" and ultimately is as complex and satisfying.
