What could cause loud fan noise at high fan speed in 2009 Hyundai Sonata?
There appears to be a loud fan noise when the air conditioner is run at the highest setting, not at lower settings, in my 2009 Hyundai Sonata. The air conditioner seems to be sending cold air into the cabin. Is this aproblem or is this normal at high fan speed? Thanks

I just had the oil changed at a Jiffy Lube. They took out the cabin air filter, asked if I wanted it changed. I said no, since it was changed in February. Could they have put the filter in wrong?

It is possible that you may have some stuck leaves or other debris like pine straw in your blower motor wheel blades. Open your glovebox,on the right side of your glovebox you will see what looks like a black plastic link rod, next gently squeeze the the split nub with your forefinger and thumb to unlock the link rod from the glovebox and push the rod aside. Next take both hands, one on the left and one on the right side of the glovebox and pull she sides of the glovebox inward enough to clear the bumper stops. Let the glove box hang on it's own when released from the opening. Next you will look straight back behind the glovebox opening and see like a black strip of plastic with 4 tabs, 2 on each side, this is where your in-cabin air filter goes, with each hand take thumb and forefinger and squeeze tabs down while pulling back on cover. Do you see a paper filter element? if not you vehicle may be missing one. Verify next that the a/c system and blower fan are off, You can stick a few fingers in the slot and feel for any leaves/debris in the fan wheel and turn the fan by hand, Any debris found? If so pick them out. If filter is dirty, replace it. Install the filter cover and glovebox back in place and verify if the roar type noise went away on hi fan speed. If so, you fixed and found the problem.

On Max or Hi A/C setting the cooling fan will come on the create air
flow across the condenser coils thus lowering the cooling temp in the
vehicle by cooler air flow at the vents.
