It means she knows you "just" because you work together or go to church together or w.e. It means that she probably doesnt really care to know you outside church or work. I would say a friendship might happen but not too likely and romantic relationships are pretty much out of the question, i mean afterall why would u wanna be with a girl who was kinda lame and only called u an aquaintance??? She sounds rude.

Well if the girl said that you are just acquaintances then she probably doesn't expect a relationship with you any time in the close future. Try to get to know her more. If she said you were just acquaintances then that doesn't mean you can't be more. All good relationships start off somewhere right?

No it means she doesn't consider you a friend. She sees you more as just a person who is there. Like you know when you say hi to people and hold small talk, but after that that's it. You don't further anything more than small talk. That is what she was referring to with you.
