Cooking steaks in the oven?
Please let me know if I should cover the pan with foil while cooking them...Also, what temp should I set the oven, and how long should I cook them. Thanks in advance for your help!
P.S. Im looking to cook either a "Well Done" or "Medium Well" steak. Thanks again.

i usually make pork steaks or boneless rib eye. i always wrap my pan with foil (its easier to clean) but leave the steaks uncovered. i set the oven to about 375 degrees farenheit and they sit in there for about 1hr to 1hr and a half and broil them for about 1 or 2 minutes. hope this helps!!

It depends on the thickness of the steak, as mentioned above you should grill, or saute the steak. ...IF it is very very thick and will not cook properly on the grill or saute pan, then put in the oven to help cook the inside, but only as a last resort...

ive done it and it comes out pretty well.. sere the steak on both sides on the stove. set oven to 350 and cook for about 12 - 14 minutes. that or use the broiler

if you insist on cooking in the oven, only use your broiler and just brown both sides.
broilers don't have temps normally, just low and high... i would probably do it on high, but i like my steak on the rare side... if you want it a little more done, put it on low
don't cover the pan

The oven is the worst place to cook a steak. Either broil or saute it, and never cover it.
