DIESEL ENGINES ARE COMPRESSION BASED SO DON'T PUT A DROP OF ANYTHING BUT PETROL INTO THAT FUEL TANK!!!royal enfields did sell diesel bikes{ the royal enfield taurus}..but this bike and even the lightening 535cc had horribly bad engines that faced truck loads of problems..I REPEAT EITHER CHANGE THE ENTIRE ENGINE OR LEAVE IT AS IT IS AND USE ONLY & ONLY PETROL!!

If you are a milege conscious biker, the Bullet is not suitable for you.

You may convert your Electra to diesel engine, but a lots of modifications needed and it will be quite expensive, instead buy a economy bike and you can save a lot.

It's been done quite effectively many times. Google for enfield diesel and you will find a lot.

    For example http://thekneeslider.com/archives/2006/06/27/royal...
