Need MAJOR help with my t-mobile android PULSE!!?

Hey, I've accidentally put my phone onto the "security lock" mode because I didn't put the right security pattern in :| How, or can, I reset it all? They guy in the phone shop said I would have to send it off for 2 weeks, but I really don't want to unless ABSOLUTELY necessary!!! PLEASE HELP!!!

You can enter a wrong lock pattern 5 times, and get a button that says "forgot pattern". Click that and enter your gmail username and password, then booyeah!
