If you spin the wheel 3 times, what's the probability that it will land on 70% the first 2 times?

A spin wheel is marked with a 30% portion and a 70% portion. what is the probability that it will land on 70% the first two times out of 3 spins?

    The probability of landing on the 70% area in any spin is 0.7. The probability of two such spins following each other is 0.7 x 0.7 = 0.49. The third spin does not matter

    All the probabilities for the first two spins are:

    P(70,70) = 0.49

    P(70,30) = 0.21

    P(30,70) = 0.21

    P(30,30) = 0.09

    Add them together and you get P(all) = 1.0, an unsurprising outcome

    the 1st time it landed on 70% .'. probability is 1/2

    the 2nd time it landed on 70% .'. probability is 1/2

    the 3rd time it landed on any portion.'. probability is 2/2

    so 1/2x1/2x2/2=1/4

    0.70 * 0.70 = 0.49
