POW MIA car plate question?

my support the troops magnet kept on being stolen from my car at my apt building. so i bought one of those things that go around the plate. it says " you are not forgotten. POW MIA" . well today some guy told me that unless i wa a POW..i should NOT have that on my car. I see no problem with it. However i would like to know what you think. thanks.

Update:

right. because it does not give them the impression that i am a POW.

    Hi Carriec,

Nothing wrong with showing your support. The guy was a jerk! Prisoners Of War or Missing In Action, yes we still have them. I'll bet he doesn't believe in the war, but it's true just ask anyone in the service. Thanks for supporting the troops!

Then people like him are creating the possibility of the POW MIA being forgotten.

You do not need to even be in the military to show that. It is like having a sticker of the American Flag in your window.

Wear that license plate with pride and humbleness.

He is the issue, and not yourself. Although both of you are entitled to freedom of expression, just not thievery.

Tell him to go chase himself. I have a POW/MIA flag on my house (my uncle was MIA 12/8/1950 in the Chosin Reservoir). I fly it in his honor, Memorial Day to Veterans' Day, along with my American flag.

His twin was killed 1/13/51 in S. Korea. They were immigrants from Finland. LEGAL immigrants.

I think that guy doesn't know what he's talking about. It's ok to support them and not have been one yourself.
