P=E*I I=42A, E=12v. P=12*42, P=505W, if the video card requires more than 505W, anything less will not work.

that basically means that there is 42amps on the positive 12 volt rail. Depending on the number of rails, that may or may not be enough. The 480 GTX is a beast of a video card. You should add up everything you plan on powering up and see if 650 watts is enough.

    I am running the following:

    Intel Q6550 quad core

    ATI 4870 x2 (two gpus)

    2 1T hard drives

    1 DVDRW

    Watercooler

and I am using a 1kwatt Cosair. I have 3 120mm fans to keep the heat out of the case.

Its saying you need at least 42 Amps on the +12 rail to run the video card. You need a 600W PSU or better with a 6 pin and 8 pin PCIe connector...like...http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N8...

this being the minimum...personally I would go for this...http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N8...
