I keep getting paralyzed while waking up from dreams?
It really freaks me out like I would be having a nightmare so I do the trick where I shut my eyes really hard and open then up so I'll be wide awake but once that happens I would have certain elements from my dream like haunting me or something in the real world for a few seconds and I can't even move!
Like for instance there was this screaming banshee in my dreams.I do the shut-eye trick and wake up and the banshee is still screaming and I can see her reflection in my mirror and I couldn't move at all.So after like 10-20 seconds, she finally fades and so does the sound and I'm in my same position that I was before being paralyzed and all...
My question is,why the hell is this happening? It just recently started happening over and over again and it's freaking the **** outta me.

That's happened to me too!
some people think that when you dream your soul leaves your body and when people feel like they're paralyzed when waking it means their soul hasn't returned yet.
Don't know if it's true...but interesting to think about.

This is a natural phenomenon. When we dream our body shuts off our ability to move - we are literally paralysed just as you say. The REM (rapid eye movement state that typifies the dreaming state) state is very much like our natural waking state (brain waves are nearly identical) but the essential difference is that are body is unable to move - if it were we would act out our dreams! Hence sleepwalking. This dream state is also very similar to hypnosis or trance. Except in stage hypnosis the performer instructs the person to override the paralysis. Stage hypnosis is a dangerous form or entertainment and in my opinion should never be used. It can lead to psychotic episodes if done poorly. The other part of the dream, reciting biblical quotes, could be that you find that phrase a useful way to express that you are in control and that the 'evil' can be banished or destroyed. Which is a good thing - we need to feel that we can destroy the 'bad' parts of our life. These dreams often wake us because our parasympathetic nervous system is activated which then triggers the 'fight flight' response. This is an innate mechanism that enables us to get out of harms way immediately and pre-consciously. Interestingly, some people when faced with a real life frightening experience or emergency they 'freeze' and report feelings of paralysis, but that opens an entirely different (yet related) discussion! Understanding the biology behind these dreams may help you to feel less emotionally aroused by them. Perhaps there are parts of your life where you are not feeling that your needs are being met? Is there an area of your life that you feel is out of your control? If there is maybe you can find a way to gain a sense of control in this part of your life.

When you enter rem sleep/ dream stage your brain releases a chemical that effectively paralyzes your body. It is beleived that this happens to prevent us from acting out our dreams as we sleep. So when you suddenly awake from a dream it takes a few moments for that chemical to stop transmitting, leaving you in an almost paralyzed state, groggy, sometimes achey and a number of other things.

To dream that you are having a nightmare, suggests that you are being overly indulgent and living a life of excess. You need to tone it down and allow the mind and body to rest and heal. Alternatively, the dream may mean that you are experiencing a setback toward your goals. You need to learn to take a negative and turn it into a positive.

This is believed to happen to everyone at least once in a life time.
It's called sleep paralysis if I remember right. Search it up.
It occurs when we are in between the sleeping stage, and in the dream stage (to put it simply). When sleep paralysis occurs, we get paralysed and we hallucinate, without being able to move ranging from seconds to minutes.
I had this once a few years ago. I was about to sleep, but I woke up (so I was kind of in between). I then saw a pixellated white boy in front of my bed, looking at me. As much as I tried to move and wiggle out, I couldn't. I was unable to shift in any way and eventually he faded away as I fell to sleep.
Search sleep paralysis in google and you will see what it's about.
There are many suspicious beliefs about this, but in a scientific approach it is actually very normal and it happens to everyone at least once or twice, so don't worry about it. Remind yourself its not real and its just something called sleep paralysis which eventually disappears.

You're either lying or have a seriously fu cked up mind.
Or maybe you're being haunted..
Hope it's the first 2 and not the latter.
