Converting flat bar to drop bar with all SRAM drivetrain. What is a good 8-speed shifter solution?
I have a Bianchi Boardwalk that I'd like to convert to a drop bar. Here's a link to the specs:

I need an 8-speed rear, triple front shifter solution. I'd like an integrated shifter/brake setup, and was considering the Shimano RT-S500s until I realized I have an all SRAM drivetrain.

One option I'm weighing is to purchase SRAM Apex shifters and swap out the cassettes from my old trigger shifters.

Would this work? If not, what is a better solution?
Thanks in advance for the help.

I was faced with a similar problem, I had bought a hybrid cycle because I don't like dropped bars, but I wanted to be able to become more aerodynamic when I wanted to.
I changed my slightly raised bars for flat bars, and fitted a pair of clip on aero bars. I also fitted grips that incorporate bar ends, and this gives me a wide range of options. I have the normal flat bars for round town, I have the bar ends for climbing hills, and I have the aero bars for when I get on the open road.
I find in practise that most of the time I need to change gear my hands are on the normal grips, so I just kept the standard trigger shifters.
Clip on aero bars aren't that expensive, so you could try this method to see if you like it. Look at the attached link, click on customer reviews, and look at photo number 3 for a view of my bar set up.

haven't tried to do anything actually went other way from drops to flat bars but as had down tube shifter did not have your problem.
If you are hell bent on doing this Bob has given a cost effective way to change to get down lower and also change hand positions.
i am sure if you went to a bike shop and were willing to purchase from them then would be in business. Because the entry level bikes from giant with three cranks rings would work for you if not the bike shop could advise from experience to save you a lot of money.
btw thats a great looking bike in the picture,

You would be better off selling that bike and buying what you want. If you just want the aerodynamics of a road bike you can get drop bar ends.
