what could be wrong with my 96 chevy k1500 5.0?
i pulled motor and Trans cause Trans was junk and wanted to change head gaskets and stuff like that cause it been hot couple times well here is the prob put motor and Trans back together and everything hooked up and wouldn't start so i ended up changing plugs wires cap and rotor and distributor and fuel filter each one got lil closer to start but wont so give me ur info on what think could be wrong and also we tried to time it a lot and nothing so if u know the proper way to time it let me know also cause it not suppose to be able to be timed

Could be tons of things wrong. First you have to figure out what your missing Spark Fuel, Compression or air.
If its spark it could be:
Wires in wrong in order
miss aligned cap or rotor
check for power at coil with key on
If you removed distributor make sure its installed in the right position
Fuel
make sure there is fuel pressure at the rail
Injectors are firing or TBI is firing
There are some things for you to check.
