What Six Horses can win at the York Ebor Festival - Day One?

Mini Comp for the York Ebor Festival

Pick one horse from each race on Tuesday ... (1.45, 2.15, 2.50, 3.25, 4.05 & 4.40)

Write them in correct order. In the event of a Non-Runner being selected then the favourite will be substituted.

One horse is to be your Nap worth double points.

SPs up to 11/8 = 1pt

6/4 - 9/4 = 2pts

5/2 - 11/4 = 2.5 pts

3/1 = 3pts etc.

All entries to be in by 1.00pm Tuesday.

Good Luck All and Lets bash the Bookies!

Update:

Horse Question: Why is it called the EBOR?

Update 2:

Spot on Jac...Ebor is indeed short for Eboracum..Allegedly you are allowed to shoot Scotsmen with a bow and arrow on certain days within the City walls (old law that hasn't been changed, just like Chester and the Welsh after dark). Wouldn'ty try it though!

Talking of old laws, many of us break one every year......the reason.....it is illegal to eat mince pies on Christmas Day!

Update 3:

My Selections

145...Hotham

215...Rigoletto

250...Midas Touch

325...Dick Turpin

405...PuddleDuck

Update 4:

Dick Turpin is my NAP

Update 5:

Kezza change made in the first.

MickthePainter and jmp still to join! 20mins to go!

Update 6:

The Ebor meeting was arranged in August in the old days so that after the Noble Lords etc had presided over the court cases they could execute the prisoners between races, as entertainment for racegoers.

Update 7:

1pm Comp Closed DavidSportsNut last entry.

Good Luck All!

No winners today but the answer to your question is Die Hard the 1961 York Ebor winner.(if this was trivial pursuit I would be at the top of he leaderboard lolx do I get a bonus point for answering both questions) keep 'em coming.......... anyway back to the drawing board and hoping for some winners tomorrrow. Well done Steve R for beating my horse by a nifty head x..Would have had a nice double up if he had won as I backed Puddleduck at 8-1 in the race before just because I was taking my daughter to the station this morning and there was a car in front of me with 'Puddleducks Childrens Nursery' written on it (had to do it so didn't lose all today)... Still a long way to go, here are my 3 hopefuls:- 1.45 ..... ANHAR 2.15 ..... AKMAL ((nap)) 2.50 ..... TEMPLE MEADS 3.25 ..... MARTYR 4.05 ..... CHOOSE WISELY 4.40 ..... ADMIRE THE VIEW Good luck all and well done to all with winners today...Jac x
