How do you clean makeup brushes without ruining the brush?

I ran water through it but there is still makeup in my brush.

I use water in mine to. I would try scrubbing it better, or

use a wash cloth and soap to get the rest of the makeup out.

Also you could try makeup remover in the brushes I don't think it

    would ruin the brushes.

What I would do is take some toilet paper and wipe it off the best you can. Too much water can actually ruin the brush and you might have to get a new one sooner. But every once and a while if you want to you can gently wash them so that if there is other makeup on the brush it will rinse off and so there will not be as much on there anymore.

    I hope this helps!

I like to run them under some warm water, and then use a foaming hand soap to gently rub through the brushes. When scrubbing them, you want to be gentle with the bristles and never bend them in any unusual ways. Start at the bottom where the individual bristles are connected to the brush handle and rub between your thumb, pointer and middle fingers. Make sure that the soap is getting in between the bristles as you gradually work your way to the ends of them. When you are all done, rinse using warm water and the same technique. Make sure that the soap is completely rinsed out once you are finished rinsing. I like to check this by using my fingernail at the base where the bristles connect to the handle and gently pressing upward towards the ends. As for drying, you can set them on a towel and let them air dry that way, or I like to set them in an old toothbrush holder (: Hope this helped!

Mix a little olive oil with hand soap then rub your brushes in the mixture until they're clean, and dry them upside-down

this also works for paint brushes-but you just mix cooking oil and dishsoap in a boal and mix your brushes in that. then wash the oil and soap of in the sink with room temp water. let the brushes dry NOT up or dowm just lay them down on their sides on a towel and wait a few days until they dry. you should do this once a month at the least.

You can use gentle baby shampoo to clean them, and there's a product avaliable which is bascially a plastic cover to cover the brush so you can stand them up right to dry without damaging the base of the brush.

First put some olive oil on your brush and then wipe it out with a tissue or a towel .. and then wash it with any baby shampoo :)

I didn't believe my friend but she showed me how to do it with olive oil and dish soap.

It removes the dirt without damaging the brush thanks to the oil
