What is your opinion on the Klitschko brothers next opponents: Samuel Peter and Shannon Briggs?

Wlad is set to fight Sam Peter in a rematch from a loss that happened back in 2005 (Peter also lost title to Vitali coming back from retirement and dropped a decision to Chambers) and Vitali will fight faded former titlist Shannon Briggs who lost to Sultan Imbragimov of all people.

Now, I am aware of the condition the HW division is in. I'm also aware that the Klitschko's dominate and preferably Wladimir had stopped the best contenders in the past year in Chagaev and Chambers. Vitali demolished Juan Carlos Gomez and hyped American Chris Arreola.

BUT to be fighting Sam Peter in a meaningless rematch and Shannon freakin Briggs is kind of uncalled for. I understand that because the HW is crappy and the Klitschkos are so intimidating, it may be tough for people to stand up, but....seriously? Peter........okay I could give some leeway on that one, but I think it still makes for a shii*t fight, but we already know wtf is going to happen in Klitschko-Briggs. I'd actually prefer Vitali to give Chagaev a shot or just give up the extra cash Valuev wanted or give Adamek a chance. What do you think though? All are appreciated, peace!

I'm just simply wondering how on earth did Shannon Briggs get a shot a Vitali Klitschko? Since Briggs' defeat to Sultan Ibragimov, he has had four bouts with one of them being a no-contest against guys whose total record is 131-44-3(draws). All four of those opponents were on losing streaks when Briggs faced them and two of them were at least 38-years of age or older. C'mon... there are cruiserweights more deserving of a shot at Klitschko than Briggs.

Anyway, I think both brothers will win their respective matchups, which I see as being pointless.

I don't like either fight too much, but I am more disappointed that Briggs got the fight with Vitali. Him gettting a title shot just shows how weak the Heavyweight division is. At least with Wladimir there is always a chance somebody can get to his glass chin, but seeing as he beat Sam already after being dropped 3 times he will probably just repeat that performance besides the knockdowns. The most interesting fights that can be made at Heavyweight in my opinion would be David Haye or Tomasz Adamek (maybe eventually Odlanier Solis) vs either Klitschko brother, though preferably Haye vs Wladimir because that has the better chance of being a good fight. Or, how about we have Adamek vs Haye? It may not be for the title, but they are both small Heavyweights and like to make exciting fights (unlike the Klitschkos) so that could actually be the best ACTION fight to make in the Heavyweight division. The situation is very sad, and I don't have anything against the Klitschko brothers because they are good fighters and physical freaks, but both of them holding the titles and making it so there can't be 1 clear-cut Heavyweight champion the way it should be is very bad for the division and even worse for Boxing.

Well if David Haye did not duck them in 3 or 4 occasions then we would enjoy either Klitschko smashing him with a vicious KO , so from all people you should blame Haye i think.

As for you claiming Vitali not giving Chagaev a chance , you are not well informed mate, you should read Ruslan's latest interview,he cleraly said HE DOES NOT WANT TO FIGHT ANY KLITSCHKO AGAIN, he is exclusively interested in Haye, also Povetkin is exclusively interested in Haye only too!Reality is that Klitschkos are avoided and Haye is ducking any Eastern Euro fighter there is,i know that this kind of truth probably hurts many feelings in this forum (i could be wrong) but it is what it is mate;)

Adamek also said that he will make up his mind if he wants to fight a Klitschko or not only after his fight (test) with Grant,as things are now he also made clear that he is interested in David Haye before any Klitschko as well:)

To be honest as i was reading your question, i was expecting you to even mention that Klitschkos are ducking Toney or Holyfield like some crazy dudes do but thank God you didn't:)

Anyways no offense but your question does not make any sense bro, simply because is not connected with the real facts or how things really are ;)

    PS

You got a point for the Valuev case though but what are you trying to say, that Vitali is scared of him?

I hope you are not trying to say that!

I know just how you feel Briggs and Peter have one thing going for them and that is a name. These are garbage fights we as boxing fans have to let them know that we don't want to see this grabage. Ever time I think of Briggs I see Lennox Louis right hand plowing him through the canvas and Peter is nothing more than a punching bag with no skills. I would rather see them fight Evander Holyfield than these bums. One more thing there are a lot of guys to fight out here but the Klitschko brothers are not that good they play like Holyfield is to old but they wont fight him because they knoe he can beat them. Write HBO, SHOW TIME and tell them that you will not watch this junk. The promoters and the tv people are working together on this they know that these guys are not any good but there are a lot of people who want to see them.

Why are the the two a shame? initially, Wlad's final 9 combatants had a blended checklist of 232-11 triumphing all. I see not something incorrect there. And Vitali is scheduled to combat Peter in Oct without even a song up combat after being away 4 years.

As much as it seems like these two were picked because they had some semblence of name recognition, I don't think there is a huge line of guys who would be better challengers that were passed over.

Haye doesn't seem to want any part of either of them, Tomasek should be getting his shot soon, and Arreola had a nice comeback win to maybe get himself back into the mix shortly.

Honestly, I think Sam Peter deserves another shot, Briggs probably doesn't, but his experience and physical ability could make for an interesting first 3-4 rounds.

The heavyweight division is at an all time low right now. They have to keep the Klitchco's fighting. but they have to give them the best chance like Peters punches. Shannon Briggs is a bloated shadow of what he used to be. The Klitchco's will win. We need a great boxer to come along and take the belt .

I thought Haye was going to be the saviour of the Heavyweight division, I was wrong, the Klitschko's punked him out, he now looks like a coward. These fights are sad, is this the best fights the Heavyweight division can come up with.

This is because David Haye is ducking the Klitschkos. Just like that fellow who's ducking the P4P king.

these are all just your typical Klitschko fight, slow and boring, with guys who have little to no chance of winning, I for one will not be watching either if these fights

    Briggs will lose for sure

Peter will lose but I will give him a small chance

one of these Klitschko brothers needs to fight Adamek
