Do you think the planned mosque near ground zero has a chance of not being blown up?

Update:

Spidergoat2: Obama is the one who came out speaking about it. Further, this is not a zoning issue. If it were only about zoning Michael Bloomberg would not be the one to speak to.

Just curious.....do you know anything about the mosque debate lately or are you just randomly answering questions you know nothing about?

Imagine if a bunch of Americans blew up a mosque in Saudi Arabia and then, 10 years later, a bunch of Americans planted a huge American flag on or near the remains.

You would be damn sure that they would burn our flag down and that a ton of people would be pissed.

So why is it so different when Muslims are the attackers? Why do WE always have to be the tolerant ones who get pissed on?! America, you need to SHOW SOME TEETH!

IF the mosque is built near Ground Zero, it will not be blown up. Why? The mosque will employ every security measure under the sun to protect itself. And besides, that, the local citizenry and police agencies will keep a hawk-eye on it. They don't want any more explosions.

Personally, I think it would be more trouble than it's worth. There won't be any energy left for prayer or spiritual development.

I'm truly baffled at the dolts that think the president somehow has anything to do with zoning issues in New York City. The President is FEDERAL, New York City is LOCAL.

If people are upset, they need to address it with Michael Bloomburg or the zoning board.

    Get a clue.

Right. It has, I hope, every chance of not being blown up. Americans respect their constitution which respects freedom of religion and free speech. Only a deranged person would even think about it . Probably all of the worshipers condemn the events of 9/11 as they also are Americans.

It has a chance of not being blown up, yes; but considering the passionate opposition to its construction, I doubt it will get very far in that regard.

They are supposed to be putting a gym, a restaurant and a day care also in the building...........a day care so someone may think twice about blowing children to kingdom come.

Opponents of the Islamic community center supposedly hate terrorism so much, so no. Unless they are no better than the terrorists themselves.

It would be divine retribution. Not that I would ever endorse such a plan, but I certainly wouldn't be upset if it came to pass.

They need to be taught a lesson on minding their proper place.

I'm pretty sure one day a suicide bomber will walk in and accidentally press boom.
