What is the best brand of paint to use to decorate glass?
I was thinking of decorating some plain drinking glasses, or jars, etc. to give as gifts. I know they make glass paints, but which brand seem to be the most washable? Are there any that are dishwasher proof once dry? There are several major craft and art supply stores in my city, by the way.
I need something nontoxic--these need to be useable.
I also would like some brand names please (something that you yourself have used with good results)

I have used two brands of glass paints in my lifetime, the first of which is pebeo

and the second of which is folk art

I found pebeo the best to work with and they are good value for money. Good luck with your projects!

As long as the decorated surface never comes in contact with the beverages inside, or with someones lips and mouth, you can use any acrylic paint. You can also use acrylic "stained glass " type of paint, the kind you use to decorate plastic sun catchers, if you want some transparency in the colors.
Both types can be found in crafts stores.
Again, remember none of this are safe to be in contact with beverage or mouth, because such paints are usually lead based or made with toxic compounds.
You can decorate the base and the outside of the wine glass, keeping the design as far as possible from the rim if those glasses are to be used for beverages.
