English people: Do you consider Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland a part of your country?

I'm Scottish, and consider myself British. Apparently 'England' and 'Britain' mean the same thing these days. Just wondering, if I were to go to England would I be regarded as British or Scottish?

As a British Subject, born in England, I consider that Britain consists of England, Scotland and Wales, but I also happen to believe that we British should get out of Northern Ireland and let them become one nation again.

I am Welsh, live in England and have lived in Scotland too. I am going to defend the English for a change. I do not agree" Britain and England are the same thing these days". They are at last coming around to the fact that you can be Welsh and British like I am. or you Scottish and British.I have to work on being what I am, living in England, I admit. Because I have spent a long time out of Wales I have had comments that I am English really, especially because I am not a Welsh speaker.Ten years spent at school in Scotland have had an impact too. I am always ready to put them right and urge them to BE English and not forget British too, which for me represents what we share.

Both. I consider the UK a country with 4 constituent countries. My Nationality is British and I consider anyone in the UK pretty much as British first and the English or Scottish Or Welsh etc second.

I am English, but I lived in Wales for a number of years, and I have family from Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

I consider myself British, but also English, with connections to the other 3 nations of the UK

I think people from the UK see themselves as both British and then either English, Scottish, Welsh or Northern Irish, from experience people want to retain the identity of their nation, whilst still recognising the union

the only time I have seen English and British as the same thing is from Americans who confuse them - not confusion from Brits themselves

No Scotland is a seperate country, but it is part of the UK, So I consider myself Britisha nd English and you would probably be seen as both Scottish and British.

You would be considered Scottish in England. Most Scots seem to prefer that. However, we are all British!

England, Scotland, Wales and northerly eire are all international places. England + Scotland + Wales = large Britain (the massive island) large Britain + Northern eire = uk voters of all 4 international places are considered British. to characteristic to the confusion, even nevertheless the island containing Northern eire and The Republic of eire is named one in each and every of "The British Isles", the Republic of eire isn't part of uk. Its voters are no longer British!
