what does card error mean on the E-450 Olympus camera?
I have a new olympus E-450 camera and I bought the xd-picture card and when I insert it in the camera it comes up card error. What do I do??

Two things>1. be sure the "switch is slid in the other direction. 2. And always reformat you card before using. NEVER use the delete button on the camera as this leaves fragments behind on which the next photo has to compete for space and of course quality.

You won't be using IS, ever. On landscapes you would be using a tripod at f:22 at maybe a few seconds. No is is going to help you more than 1/4. Definitely not 6 seconds. So IS makes no difference.
