moving my phone/Internet cable modem?

I have my RCA/Thomson cable modem in my master bedroom powering my brighthouse phone and internet connection. I want to move it to the living room to connect it to my xbox.  I already have a cable jack there for TV and there is a phone jack nearby.  I do not know how they set up my phone connection. Is the phone jack directly going to my phone base(I have a set of 3 Panisonic cordless phones with the base next to my modem), or is it going in to the wall?  He did not make any new boxes, so I am guessing it could go in any phone jack, I am just not sure. Also, will using a splitter reduce bandwith or will it stay the same

You probably have one that has integerated voip, just trace the phone cable for your cordless base, it probably plugs direct into your cable modem.

Now there is another way it could be installed. The jack for the voip on the cable modem could be going into the wall, and that is feeding the rest of your house.  I do this, so I can put the phone anywhere.  Your original phone in must be shunted at the feed to prevent someone cross connecting a real land line.

Anyway, it is easier for you to look than me to describe.

Also, if you add spitters will not affect bandwidth unless you don't terminate it or use splitters that aren't approved for cable modems.

you do no longer want a accepted telephone line to get all started. You do want a severe velocity internet connection DSL (greater effective than 128K), cable internet or FIOS. Magic Jack or Vonage can grant you with a telephone extensive form to apply. There are different internet telephone centers too. Google internet telephone service.
