HG/SS Pokemon: Lyra keeps hinting stuff when I call her?

Everytime I call Lyra in my Soul Silver Pokemon version she hints me to do things, such as when I call her from Ecrutek city she tells me to bring a Pichu to the dance theater, and when I do all it does is just get happy. Another example is when I call her from Olivine City she tells me to bring and Ampharos to the Lighthouse, and all it says when I talk to it in front of the Ampharos in the lighthouse (aka Amphy) it says it is interested in Ampy! I am guessing all this really does is it makes my pokemon more happy or something? And I am guessing there is a hint/suggestion/task for each city?

My question is does anything happen in particular other then my pokemon being more happy if I take Lyra's advice and go on and do it?
