Kisumu, Kenya. Poorest city in Kenya?

I read that Kisumu one of the poorest parts of Kenya. Is this true? And if so, what facts support it?

    Just the poorest on a list if cities with certain attributes to make that particular list

    Kenya is poor in the midst of plenty. Kenya is under a tropical sun which means variety of plant/food is present thus, they can fight poverty. But business has been horrible. There is simply no way she can hide that for the same price she is selling bundles half the size they were a few months ago. Also, THE government may be Corrupt.

    I doubt that is true. Many more desolate cities in Kenya like Lodwar, Moyale, Marsabit etc would be much poorer. But I can see why Kisumu would hit the list. The Luos around that region of Kenya are so lazy, they expect the Ngenge (Tilapia) to jump out of the lake into their laps.

    I doubt it. I heard Vanga is pretty poor (I think that's the name, its the last town on the coast near the Tanzania border). Not even any restaurants or hotels there. All people do to make money is fish. I'm sure up in the north desert areas there are a lot of poor towns too.

    not really.but of the three cities nairobi,mombasa,kisumu it is.most of rural kenya is poor.kisumu city itself is not poor.
