You will help by removing the fish, but ich can remain dormant in the gravel of your tank.
Increase the temperature of your tank very slowly until you reach about 82-84 degrees. I had similar fish and they are fine with this temp. I actually got mine up to 86 for a couple weeks and they were fine.
Increasing the temperature speeds up the life cycle. You can't kill the ich at certain points in the life cycle. You can also add some aquarium salt to the tank. Do water changes (25%) about every 2 or 3 days. If you keep all this up for a couple weeks it SHOULD be gone.
I would try this before adding medication. Are you positive it is ich? Does it look like little white specks?

Increase your temperature to 85 degrees, this will increase the life cycle of the ich so the eggs will hatch faster and thus can be treated faster. Put half a teaspoon of aquarium salt(scaleless fish do not tolerate salt such as corys) and do a water change every 2 days, keep the lights off if possible(depending if you have live plants or not).
The ich is present in the water and your fish do have it even if they dont show the symptoms since ich stays dormant in the gravel then hatch and latch to fish, if theyre not showing the symptoms then they are pretty healthy. Medication should be a last resort since it will harm the beneficial bacteria present in the tank.

I'll admit i have no expirience in fish but try changing the water in the tank as well for any left over germs (:
