What is the Right Wing Media?

Some people on this forum keep talking about the "Right Wing Media". What exactly is it?

Fox News? Rush Limbaugh? Sean Hannity? Bill O'Reilly? Laura Ingraham? Glenn Beck? The Washing Times? The Washington Examiner?

So, what you have here is 5 talking heads, three of which work for fox news, and two newspapers...

How does that compare with the Left Wing Media?

NY Time, Boston Globe, LA Times, Chicago Sun-Tribune, Miami Herald, Washington Post, Houston Chronicle, ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, MSNBC, Huffington Post, etc, etc

Which consists of almost every major newspaper, the big three TV networks, two cable news stations. It could probably be added that Academia is part of as well.

Despite the lower percentage of the overall market, how is it that one can point out the "Right Wing Media" as if it control all flow of information?

Update:

I see your "Right Wing Noise Machine" and raise you "Coloring the News" by William McGowan.

Liberals won't be happy until all right wing news sources are gone. They despise the conservative bias of commentators like Beck and Limbaugh, but don't seem to have any problems with heavily biased liberals like Olbermann, Shultz, Behar and Maddow or even hate-spewing wackos like Mike Malloy and Randi Rhodes.

ummm....CHYEAH... that is blatently obvious that the CNNs and MSNBCs of the international are left wing. It exhibits in the two what they "do no longer" document and how they document on what they "do" document on. AP and BBC are additionally left leaning, socialist businesses. yet they do no longer show their bias as plenty with the aid of fact the CNNs of the airwaves. a narrative that exhibits the Democrat occasion, or a undeniable Democrat, in a foul gentle, would be squashed by an outlet like CNN or MSNBC. If the comparable tale in contact a Republican, it would be suggested. there are distinctive different little issues they do. They describe people as "good Wing Republican", yet while speaking a pair of Democrat, their occasion association is the two no longer suggested in any respect, or only only "Democrat". Liberal or "Left Wing" are by no ability used. in case you want unfiltered information, watch FOX. that is by a strategies the main well-known, and for solid reason.

The 2% or so that isn't left-wing. The media is so left-wing that even centrist media is considered right-wing.

Source(s): Fox has been proven to be closer to the middle than any other TV news, but seems right-wing because the others are so left-wing.

  • From the tone of your question, I doubt you want to believe it, but here's a great description and history of the Conservative Media Bubble nontheless:

The Right-Wing Noise Machine by David Brock:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Republican_Noise_...

"Brock details the development of the conservative media strategy since Barry Goldwater. This strategy, he claims, was predicated on corporate funding of think tanks, like the Heritage Foundation and three kindred institutions. Such think tanks can serve not only as tutors for industry lobbyists, but as propagandists. He writes that they used deceptive sorts of language-frames that, for example, posit "cherry-picked half-facts" suggesting for example that increased educational spending in fact decreases the efficacy of educators’ efforts. Conservative and Republican strategists, he claims, "concoct smears, distortions, and outright lies", and then disseminate the product as 'talking points' to right-wing radio and Fox News."

It's called the whole story. Libbies can't relate to news that's not twisted to make liberals look good and others look bad.
