Have you ever suffered through a bad mono/stereo experience, R&P?

Question

I was listening to 1910 Fruitgum Company compilation, and as cool as all the music was, it was all in that really fake, annoying stereo, where everything is pushed to the limit, right into one ear. Granted, that can be cool sometimes (I can't find anything by Flora Molton on youtube, but her music does that really well) but here, it wasn't.

Care to relate a similar experience?

Yeah, I've had many similar experiences over the years. Mostly with bad analog to digital transfers of several 60's American psych bands reissued for CD; Fever Tree, Fraternity Of Man, Mr. Floods Party, Beacon Street Union, etc etc etc. It is what it is I suppose...the same holds true with just about anything (to a varying degree) from the 60s/70s reissued on CD during the late 80s/early 90s by major labels like Columbia Records; Judas Priest, Al Dimeola, Blue Oyster Cult, Aerosmith, Mahavishnu Orchestra, Kansas, etc...anyone that's ever heard what Blue Oyster Cult sounded like on vinyl, then heard those horrid Columbia CD reissues from the late 80's/90's knows what I'm talking about. Just really bad analog to digital transfers that sounded lifeless and flat...and sadly thus is the case with much of what's been reissued on CD over the years, with some exceptions. EMI/Capitol did a pretty good job with the Beatles back catalog initially (late 80s reissues), as have several other smaller labels that specialize in the reissue of obscure 70's bands..."Repertoire Records/CDs" and "Second Battle Records/CDs" of Germany are a couple great examples of this.

That 2d INT felt like a punch in the intestine. The Steelers have been underdogs approximately to pull of the disappointed, and the rug have been given pulled proper out from decrease than us.
