back pain in my middle-left side.?
it just started up a few days ago, at first i thought maybe i slept wrong or that maybe i needed to pop my back, but it wont pop and its still killing me after 3 days. if im just in a still position its fine, but if i stand, walk, or shift my body in any which way, it is a sharp pain.
its in the middle part of my back, to the left of my spine. i had my boyfriend rub on it for a a little the other night and it was a nice/painful feeling. i was hoping it would get better after a few days stretching it but it seems to still be here the same.
i drink plenty of water and i am very active, and i have never suffered from any other types of back pain ever in my life. this is really the first one.
does anyone know what it might be?
it doesnt hurt when i breathe,
it espicially hurts if im in a lay down position and shift my lower half or try to get up?
if anyone has any ideas or is experiencing the same thing as me please let me know. i would like to avoid going to the doctor unless yahooanswers cant help me. or unless it continues to get worse. thank you and 10pts awarded to best answer.

It's a pinched muscle causing the pain and every time you shift it changes the pressure on the pinched area to make the pain worse or better. To get rid of the pain you have to free the muscle back up by releasing it. Here's how to do that:
Back:
(do from a sitting position)
Place your left hand on your left leg next to your body. Place your right hand over your left shoulder, fingers over the back and the palm in the front and firmly press on them and hold. After 30 seconds slowly lower your body forward and to the outside of your left leg, keeping your left arm fairly straight as you do. When you reach your lap remain there for another 10 seconds, release the pressure but rest there for another 30 seconds. Then reverse your hand positions and do your right side.
For best results relax your body first by taking a deep breath and exhaling then remain this relaxed.

Hey there,
Though sciatica is a common problem, it is really surprising that often it is hard to tell why a person suffers from this ailment. This is why it is often referred to as a back pain complex. Even experienced doctors find it difficult to pinpoint a cause. Number of medical conditions lead to sciatica such as stress and trauma at any point on spinal cord or lower back. This is understandable but when a person feels this pain and the underlying causes are as general as obesity or pregnancy, it presents a vague picture to the doctor. There can be many more underlying causes that require supervision and treatment at the right time.

I cured my sciatica with this natural treatment https://tinyurl.im/stop-sciatica-now
Normally, I would not answer a question like this as my expertise is generally in medication but I had severe sciatica while I was pregnant with my 3rd child (after having had twins) and I had sciatica so bad that I was finding it difficult to walk. I tried massage therapy and physical therapy and could not take medication
I went to the chiropractor and the pain was instantly relieved. My hips and lower back were out of alignment because I had carried twins the year before. On occasion a Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) can also work but they usually only work on one joint at a time - the chiropractor will do your whole back which works faster. Anyone who does not believe in chiropractors will tell you they are quacks - don't listen.
I don't necessarily believe that chiropractors can cure things like diabetes but they can definitely relieve some types of back pain especially if a pinched nerve is involved which is usually the cause of sciatica.

I came across a new topical pain relief cream that reduced my mid back pain from a pain level of 8 to a pain level of 2. This product actually gave me my life back. There is nothing on the market like this. Believe me, I had tried everything. My wife rubs into my back once a day and most days, I am completely pain free. If you want to get more info, you can get it at http://stopmypainnow.com./
Hope this helps you too.

If you feel even minor back pain, you should take it very seriously - your body is telling you that something is not right. Failing to address this situation now will likely result in a higher level of pain and having to work much harder and much longer to get yourself back to a pain-free state.
Muscle imbalance occurs when you have overdeveloped and tight muscles in one area of your body while the opposing muscles are weak and stretched out of their normal position. These imbalances can happen anywhere on the body and often develop as the result of the routine things you do while on the job, playing sports, or engaging in other activities you enjoy.
As your muscles get more and more out of balance, you end up pulling your self out of proper alignment thus producing uneven more stress and causing additional wear and tear on muscles, ligaments, joints, and even the spine.
Almost all of us live our lives with chronic unrecognized muscular imbalances and while it does take time for muscle imbalances to cause a symptomatic condition the first signs of trouble are evident on our bodies in the form of postural dysfunctions. Postural dysfunction can be seen in the abnormal position on the pelvis, head, neck, shoulder and even in the curvature of the spine.
Once a postural dysfunction has developed, your body cannot go on for long this way before you will begin to experience problems. That is why you should never just cover up the pain or put off addressing your condition. In other words, if you are in your 40s, don't wait until you're 60's to decide you have a problem.
Here's a simple overview: If your core muscles are out of balance - from a strength versus flexibility perspective - front to back or side to side, you will have at least one postural dysfunction (most people have more than one). What happens when your core muscles are out of balance is that your pelvis will be pulled out of its normal position. Because the pelvis is the base of the spine and controls the position and curvature of the spine, your spine will then go into abnormal curvature. Abnormal curvature of the spine is the root of all back pain - whether it's a pulled back muscle, herniated disc, spinal stenosis, SI joint syndrome, spondylolisthesis, and the list goes on.

If it is the lower left side it is probably the sacroilliac joint.
Try hot and cold on it for an hour or so, take some anti-inflammatory medication from the pharmacy and if you see no change in the next few days skip the GP and go and see a chiropractor (preferably McTimoney chiropractor) or an osteopath.
Hope that helps.
