The answer to that would depend on your school. The process for some schools is VERY slow, so don't count on anything for at least 4 weeks AFTER school has started. (All schools have a MANDATORY 4 week waiting period for first time borrowers). This means you won't get anything until at LEAST 4 weeks after school has started.
Contact the bookstore to see if they will let you charge your books against your loan. If they won't, you need to drop your classes and wait until Spring because you will surely fail without books for all your classes.

Hi, I was in that situation when I started college, I'm currently in my second year so yes, this happened last year, LOL. Anyways, yes your school knows that you got it done and they have all that information, however, they won't disburse the money on the actual date that your statements says. Why? Because some people usually take the money and run. To avoid that, colleges make sure that you at least attend all your classes and then they begin to give you the money 1-2 weeks later. Not only that, they might also split the amount, for example, if it says $1,000 they will first give you $500, then 3-6 weeks later the other $500. Colleges are really fed up with people dropping their classes and taking the money, so I guess we all now pay for others stupidity, which sucks because we usually need the money URGENT! You should either contact your school, or visit their financial aid office if you have any more questions. Remember, we do not go to your college, so we migght not be accurate. Hope this helps, good luck!

It can take up to 2 weeks for the lender to disburse funds. You should be able to get a book voucher from the financial aid office to get books.

Could be a few weeks or a month, but probably more like 2 months.
You're now in line behind thousands and thousands of others that finished their paperwork weeks ago, and are still waiting. Don't hold your breath.
Perhaps you should have done your application on time, instead of waiting until it was past late, or maybe had a JOB instead of sitting around all summer doing nothing.
