Wear rain gear and/or carry an umbrella and go hiking in the rain. Why stay stuck in a tent when cheap and lightweight gear is available to keep you dry and comfortable outdoors in the worst of conditions. With everyone else hiding in their tents you'll have the wilderness to yourself.
It rained every day of our backpacking trip to Hetch Hetchy in Yosemite NP last summer and my family and I stayed dry using just our umbrellas and our windbreaker jackets and these little Sierra Newts were all over the trail:

And from last fall until this spring there was rain almost every week around here and thanks to my Frogg Toggs rain suit I was able to go mountain biking every week on my day off, rain or shine.

Camping while it's raining is a miserable experience, especially if it's pouring outside. Then you're pretty much cooped up in your tent until it stops. But if it's just a drizzle, then you can always go out and hike. I personally think nature looks much nicer while it's raining, so when it's not that bad, I always grab my rain jacket and go out.
But if you plan on staying in the tent, you should probably bring cards, because they're pretty small and have a lot of games in them. But they will get boring after a while. DVDs will probably help too. I guess pretty much anything that you would use when bored at home, as long as it doesn't need to be plugged into a wall.

Cards,
Board games - one or two,
good book,
take a walk - get wet
Check your rain gear for leaks
If warm - go swimming
You can watch movies at home - don't do it camping, do things that you DON'T do at home.
Hmm - Sierra Nevadas - so probably no campfires.
Learn how to set up a tarp - don't want the water to pool on it but run off
Most of all - have fun.

An extra tarp is great, so you can get out of the tent a little bit.
Bring some quality rain gear. If you're base camping, you don't have to worry about keeping your pack dry, just leave it in the tent. Go out and explore, walking in the rain can be fun. Just stay dry, because it makes it much easier to stay warm or warm up once you get back to camp.

When i go camping i usually bring books, my Ipod Touch, cards, paper & pens/colored pencils/crayons, small simple board games, dvd player w/ movies, and magazines. These usually keep me occupied but when my family goes camping its not in the mountains and doesn't usually rain a lot. Good Luck!

I personally take advantage of weather conditions...set out a tarp and gather some fresh water...
kick back and study how the water is absorbed by the land or isn't.
what do the animals do when this happens..
how bad does it affect the streams....
make the best use of whatever comes along.......this knowledge my be use full later on..

With the ages listed, be careful of the alcohol intake, it can make close quarters with people who you are not familiar. With the ages you list, your not made out of sugar, put on a pancho and get out of the tent. Snipe hunting is often very fun or funny depending on if you're the hunter or the observer.
