Retrieving photos off phone memory card...?

I was trying to put some photographs off my phone onto my laptop by inserting my micro SD memory card into a card reader, i safely removed it after using it but then found out most of my photographs had been deleted off the card. I downloaded a photo recovery programme but i wasn't able to use it as i was busy, later on i accidentally took 3 photos on my phone. have i completly overwritten the data,or can my photos still be retrieved?

thanks

Update:

i don't think its a virus as this has happened before with a different laptop,it used to work fine til one day it just wouldnt allow me to safelty remove it,so i think the problem lies within the card reader but thanks for the suggestion.

don't worry, you should be able to retrieve some if not all photos.

First thing to note is that do not save anything new to phone, and recover your files as soon as possible.

Take out the memory card and put it in a card reader attached to the PC. You should see memory card shown as a drive letter (like H:) in Windows Explorer.

Then try some photo recovery software on the PC. This should recognise the phone or card and then you can scan it using the free download of some good photo recovery software. That will show you what files still exist on the phone or card and what can be recovered.

Use Demo version of Photo recovery software from Stellar information systems If the deleted Photo is visible after scanning then you can recover the data

it must have been probably a virus inside your laptop that changes the attributes of the files inside a removable drive that is inserted in your laptop. my tip about this is that you change the properties of the folder of your card and in the view tab, choose to view hidden files. you should see your hidden photos using this trick, unless the virus has already affected your system that disables you to view hidden files. you still can retrieve your photos, assuming that your memory card is not corrupted yet..

nd if u hav taken sum more pictures it doesn't mean dey are saved to same location from where ur pictures are deleted. here location doesn't mean ur memory card it means d location or we can say sectors on d card

sorrry to be so confusing bt its d way it wrks

Yes, you still can try to recover your files with Easy Drive Data Recovery software:

It uses unique modern algorithms to recover files that other software either recovers incorrectly or is unable to detect.
