Math guide please, kN/mm^2 to N/mm^2?

kiloNewtons to Newtons is a multiplication by 1,000 (there are 1,000 Newtons in a kiloNewton). The 1/mm^2 is not changing, so ignore it's a 1:1 ratio and can be ignored.

80 * 1,000 = 80,000

Just a heads up, if you have a unit raised to a power that does change (say the mm^2 goes to m^2), then you actually raise the multiplier to that same number (in the example, mm to m is divided by 1,000 so mm^2 to m^2 is divided by 1,000,000).

1 kN means 1000N

so, 80 kN/mm^2 = 80*1000 N/mm^2 = 8*10^4 N/mm^2

kilo = 10^3

it means u have to multiply by 10^3 to get the ans to N/mm^2

so the answer is 80 x 1000 = 80,000 N/mm^2
