Can you Unlock a locked iPhone 4?

Unlocking & jailbreaking are 2 different things, although in this case, the iPhone 4 must be jailbroken in order to get to the unlocking tool. That's the only way.

Its either buy a factory unlocked or get a locked & unlock.

To unlock, 4.0 or 4.0.1 go to www.jailbreakme.com on the iPhone. Then slide to jailbreak. Then go to Cydia & install ultrasn0w. Then it would be unlocked.

To unlock the handset it needs to be running either iOS 4.0 or 4.0.1 - (check by going to SETTINGS>>GENERAL>>ABOUT>>AND VERSION).

If you are running above 4.0.1 then it cant be done. If you are on 4.0 or 4.0.1 then follow the following steps to do it.

1) back up any information on the handset.

2) open safari on your phones

3) go to http://jailbreakme.com/

4) slide the bar along, this will take a few minutes.

5) message will pop up saying complete, Cydia has been added

6) click home button, new icon on your springboard called Cydia. Open it

7) allow it to refresh etc....click on manage on bottom

8) click on sources, then click edit in top right,then click add

9) in pop up box type - repo666.ultrasn0w.com - then click add

10) after it refreshes click ok, then click search at bottom

11) type in 'ultrasn0w' - download and installed the file

12) Voila - your iPhone 4 is unlocked.
