Travel Insurances normally covers accidents, lost of baggage or when in an emergency in a trip. It does not cover specifically on medical only. Some insurance companies do not undertake an elderly of age 80 and above.
In Singapore, you have a wide range of such insurances to choose from like AIG (AIA), Prudential or Great Eastern. Personally I prefer AIG (AIA) as it has quite a few good packages to choose from and it clearly specifies the regions you're travelling and number of days for your travel, and charge according to these options selected by you. Furthermore, so far from my experiences with them and also feedback from others that their claims are much more efficient and easier, in particularly like lost baggage or items during travel. Compensations are reasonable and not too much hassle.

Portable health insurance is generally not available for international travelers over a certain age. Insurance companies recognize the high likelihood of older people requiring emergency medical treatment. Older people are more easily subject to heart attacks, strokes, respiratory problems, and injuries from falling or slipping.
