Why does the government behave the way it does? (read more)?

this is a question i have to write up for class, so i need more serious answers

the basic idea is what is the "psychological" reason behind how a government acts

why does it behave the way it does

ideas are an ethical responsibility to constituents, being bound by past decisions, internal fear of disorder, corporate influence

also, what is your first name if you want to give it and your occupation

and i need better answers then 'i hate the goverment/ x political parties'

if you answer thank you very much

Update:

oh and its what you personally think

Update 2:

its hard for me to explain this question myself, my professor posed it

but ill try to clarify, why does it operate the way it does, what makes it tick?

im sorry if its not clear

i guess where does the power come from, and what makes them exercise their power in certain ways, why does the government make the decisions it does

why does it prioritize certain issues and not others?

When in Rome...the most upstanding individual is corrupted by the lure of the lifestyle in DC. Secondly, most bills are trojan horses. A bill titled "funding for orphans" may actually contain something as bad as funding for terrorists. No matter how you vote, it would be political suicide.

This is an extreme hypothetical example, but showcases the challenges those in DC face.

  • The only thing you need to know is government is made up of people. So, No matter how much hope you have for government it will ultimately fall into the same pattern of deceit and corruption as the rest of society.

If no one ever cheated on their spouse or stole from another person or any of the other terrible things people do then government made up of the people could be perfect.

So you see you and I are personally responsible for setting the bar for what we expect from our government. No more blaming the other guy or past administrations. Government prioritizes issues purely on a political scale to gain voter support, it should not be this way but the voters have trained the politicians to do this just like stock holders have trained companies to think short term gain instead of long term stability.

The power comes because most people are afraid to stand on their own.

Um... the question is hard to pin down. The goverrnment "behaves" in many complicated different ways. I would think you would want to be more specific. As far as influence goes, elected officials, especially those with a lot of power, represent hundreds of thousands of constituents, companies; government in general represents all Americans. Therefore their "behavior" is an amalgamation of countless viewpoints and opinions. Decisions are made slowly and sometimes oddly as intense political pressure- often backed by a lot of money- campaign attack ads, who knows what- comes out of left field and causes a stir.

Government is made up of bureaucrats and politicians.

Bureaucrats, many of which, wouldn't have a job if it weren't for government. They operate to preserve their job.

Politicians are a group of people who in order to get elected have developed traits which if the voters understood these traits better would never be voted for. They owe obligations to the people and organizations who drive and fund their elections.

Their actions are motivated by self preservation. They have a position that provides them with a certain amount of notoriety and status. And everything they do will be weighed as to whether or not it increases their chances for re-election.

My name is Chris, and I am currently a student.

Personally, I think it has to do with the power gained from being apart of the government, as well as special interest groups, such as unions. But it has been shown that gaining power changes people.

governments, like corporations, don't have 'psychological' reasons for anything. they don't have psyches. they're groups of people following the orders of people who are following the orders of people who are following the orders of people who are acting in their own best interests.

governments behave the way they do because there are very powerful and wealthy people (most of whom aren't officially in government, and you've never heard of them) who have a vision of how the world should be, and have the ability to pull the strings necessary to bend the world to their will.

The psychological reasons behind the current administration's actions starts with Obama himself. Why? He selected those who would support and help him inject his Radical ideology. Why? because his past clearly shows he is a radical, and was in-doctrine by those around him since birth to his present. He taught his radical views, when he was a professor in Chicago. Why? He personally embodies bitter views instilled in him by those that were around him. Therefore Obama feels that it is his duty, as president to transform America into a Socialist country. Obama has been ingrained by those who inflicted their radical views and injected him sense birth, so Obama really honestly thinks he is right and just for his radical actions. He feels that Capitalism is bad and that liberties need to be stripped from the people and government should have the main say so in your life. He deliberately causes division among all walks of life, so that it enables him to manipulate opposing citizens, so that he can manipulate his reasons and his administration to seize more of your freedoms, such as the unconstitutional Health Care. He wants to change the very structure of our country. He uses people against people for his manipulation agenda ploy. Why? because he spent years being a community organizer for a corrupted ACORN and this is how a radical community organizer works to control things. It is all a ploy. He has openly admitted the constitution is the oppressor of what "government cant do." The constitution is a real problem for him. He meant it when he said, he wants to fundamentally change America. There are still many people out there that want to say all of this is racial, even that itself is a tactic for him. The left injected the race card, it is Bushes fault, middle school name calling toward the middle right and conservatives. These tactics work with the so called "little people" who do not educate themselves about the facts, they are being exploited by this current administration that is feeding lies to exploit them for votes, by promising them govt. incentives that they will be soon stripping, because the fact is... this administration has depleted our money and the debt is out of control, and this is what they will use to ignite the transformation. Mark my words, this radical administration will soon be trying to pass Cap and Trade which will be one of the biggest take over of the American's people's life which is presented to the people as a "good thing" when it isn't. They will try and shove this down our throats like the Health-care that many haven't a clue what all that really entails they just think they are getting something good for free. OMG!!!! The people are being played like stupid little pawns. I hope those that want to curse what I wrote will honestly delve into facts about it all and then comment. Because this administration is fundamentally transforming America right before your eyes and the young is being exploited and lied to and it will be them that pay the huge price and their children. Many young people are educating themselves about what is happening. I am seeing more and more attending rallies and getting evolved. Believe me, I do not know of anyone that wants to attend a rally in the heat, the cold, but America is waking up and Rising. It is not about race, political party, like this administration wants you to believe, it is about Americans educating and standing up as Americans and what is being done to our country. It is about Fiscal Responsibility, Free Markets, Limited Government. If you would attend Tea party , American rallies they will give you some information to help with your studies and understand those things that are being indoctrinated by those who seek political gain. But those who have been indoctrinated will have to painfully read what is being done to them in order to understand it all. It will be a painful experience for some to go against the grain that someone instilled in them years ago. Many people really do still believe Obama is great, but then sometimes propaganda overrides obtainable knowledge that each of us have access to.
