Last night I took 90mg's of Methadone will it block the 60mg's of roxy that I just consumed?
I am an opiate addict and take many different kinds of opiates, so last night at about 10pm I took 90mg's of Methadone and was feeling quite good....had the good ole nod and took me about 20 minutes to send one text message and then passed out I woke up early this morning still feeling the dome buzz. I got my Roxie's from the "pharmacy" today and took 60mg's "orally" My question is If I do not have Methadone built up in my system and just took 90mg about 17 hours ago will it block the Roxie's?
Anyone with any experience with this please let me know if I just wasted two good Roxie's? I know I can just wait and see how much it affects me, but I would like to know how long I should wait and just any info anyone may have, Thanks
excuse me "dadyxr" but I am diagnosed with fibromyalgia and am constantly in pain that I am in the process of trying diff. med's to deal with this horrible pain and the last time I checked this is not a place to be judged, even if I happen to be addicted to narcotics which often happens when one such as me who has a chronic pain diagnosis! so thanks for your judgemental comment and not an answer to my question, which is what this place is for!

Yeah, fibro. Right.
I've treated numerous patients with chronic pain, some whore were addicted. NONE of them talked about "buzz" "wasting two Roxies", etc. This sounds a lot more like the street addicts I used to resuscitate with Narcan.
Daddyrx is right. Anyone who prescribed methadone for fibro would be looking at a new career, AFTER the prison term. Can you say "Welcome to McDonalds"?
Most of us with experience in the medical field has a finely tuned detector for drug seekers. Mine is ringing off the wall now.

I hate these kind of programmes. Are we supposed to be shocked that someone who is moneyed, living in comfort and privilege won't have a bloody clue? You would get the same results with the majority of this board, who don't even have the same income or comfort of the MP's. People have no idea what life is like for those living in poverty. They base their ideas or assumptions on the minority of feckless people and what they read or what they see on the telly. Nor is it enough to say 'I grew up in poverty'; times have changed. The issues/problems/solutions facing these people are very very different to what they faced a generation ago. What good is a few mps or slebs feigning shock horror at 'the truth'? It's the whole bloody country that should be up in arms, but mp's know the majority now guard 'what's mine is mine' with psychotic fervour. No one is prepared to fund change be it the electorate or the elected. Also it's easy to show the grim side and repercussions of social deprivation but it only half the story. The reasons some people get trapped in these situations and the reasons people find it impossible o break the cycle are very complex. It's not a simple case of people need better houses. They need a multitude of improvements in all areas of their existence. I can guarantee this programme will serve no purpose to those in poverty. Viewers will be snorting at the mp's, be disgusted at how deluded these twunts are, tut loudly and then go back to sneering at 'chavs' , scroungers and single mothers, because they serve a purpose. The more dysfunctional this section of society becomes the more they can be drawn as unwilling to help themselves or deserving of money via taxation to instigate real change. The hopelessness and self esteem gets passed through generation after generation. The programme is nowt more than entertainment and a shot at redemption for Oaten. So no, not revealing...just depressing manipulation.

Excuse YOU, Dervish. Your language certainly suggests you are taking these enormous amounts of opiates recreationally. 90 mg of Methadone for pain? That is a preposterously high dose! When used medicinally, e.g., cancer of the spine, or some other horribly, excruciatingly painful disease, 10 mg every 6 hours would be the more expected dose. Any doctor that prescribed 90 mg of methadone on top of 60 mg of Roxinal for Fibromyalgia would certainly be receiving visits from State regulators, probably accompanied by State Police with handcuffs. But that IS about right for an experienced heroin addict attempting to get high. If that's not enough to tell the world you are an addict, the "wasted 2 good Roxies" or "good old nod" will certainly do it. You're an addict. Don't insult our intelligence that you are not. You're a junkie. No question about it. What do you think we do for a living?

Yes! It will block the euphoric effects of the roxie. Most people starting on methadone the highest that you are supposed to take is 40 mg. It has a half life so if you take 90mgs one day, the next day you still have 45mgs left in your system...I would be really careful taking methadone. Even if you are used to other opiates they aren't the same as methadone...Methadone lasts wayyyy longer than a roxy. Most people that die off of methadone are people that take way too much and don't have a tolerance. It's really dangerous because its not like other opiates. You can't feel them coming on for a long time. So you take more. Bad idea, it will lead to an overdose...no joke. Even if you think you have a tolerance, you have to take it every day and if you even miss your dose for 3 days, at the clinic, they cut your dose in half, so you don't O.D. So next time you have a bunch of methadone, think twice before you eat em like you would an oxy because they last longer, they are slower acting and you need a tolerance to take more than 30 mgs. It takes 9 months taking it every day to get up to 90 mgs. I don't want to preach, but if this comment will make you think twice before you, munch like a nut, then it's worth it!

This is the Medicine Forum, not the Illicit use of Prescription Drugs Forum. Repost the question in the Druggie Forum.
EDIT: 'Feeling quite good', 'dome buzz', pharmacy and orally in quotes, 'wasting 2 good roxie's', 'trying different meds' (on whose order?). Doesn't sound to me like a person taking them legitimately. Someone who takes these for a valid reason would have posted this same question quite differently.

You certainly " talk the talk " of an addict. That you can survive such huge doses means you have quite a tolerance. There are treatments for Fibromyalgia other than narcotics, but you are going to have to work with a physician to get off the narcotics. I suggest you do.

hey whats up man i heard stories of it "blocking" other things but not really for me
it can lessen the effects because of the obvious tolerance that is built with the methadone that is strong
hope i helped dogg
