Why do some white people say "We don't feel like we are owed anything,unlike black people"?

Most of time your success is based on who you know and what class you are born in. So I don't why people act like you get where you are on working hard alone. EVERYONE gets free handouts once in while based on who you know, what your good at, you wealth all play a factor in your future. So if someone says a black person doesn't work hard just because they get affirmative action would be kidding themselves. Success was never based on just working hard. Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian are successful, does that mean they earned it, no. And yes if white people didn't still native land and enslave blacks they would not be in charge right now. They have had a head start over every other ethnicity.

As a black person, I can say that no one told white people that they "owed" us anything. Let me correct that. I didn't tell anyone they owed me anything. Maybe SOME black people feel that way. Probably the people who lived during the time of segregation. But it's not fair to infer that all black people refers back to slavery for some reason. The people I know already know it's over... so we don't mention it. I think if SOME white people quite mentioning it, then this wouldn't be such an issue. I honestly don't know who these mysterious black people are who hate white people, and talks about slavery for defense, but I haven't seen them. The black people I associate with and I get along with everyone, including white people. As for some of the people who gave those answers generalizing the whole African American population, maybe they owe some apologies.

actually i rather like being descended from predators, ya gotta keep in mind the taking itself needs effort. what do ya really think everyone just gave up when they saw us comin'? the trouble is that if white folks wanna hang to things as they are (which i'm not saying is a good or bad thing) they can't let themselves get soft but that's the way it is with inherited wealth, with it always comes that sense of entitlement and every passing generation keeps getting a little softer than the last. things have to change because it can't stay like this, so we either try and wipe each out until there's only one left standing or move past things and try to get along, personally i'm good either way

WOW! you really don't know your history facts do you? It was your own king who sold you to Hollanders from Africa. then started selling your people around the world to ALL others as slaves, not just whites. Whites have been used as slaves as well throughout time. The reason most whites say that is that "blacks ride free on welfare and continue using drugs, smoking, and drinking and having kids" (that is the seen stereotype by people who have no lived in your shoes). Your race is the only one who EXPECTS and DEMANDS, if you would stop complaining and study for those good grades instead of expecting everything on a silver platter you wouldn't get those comments. Your race expects that a stupid word be deleted from the human races vocabulary instead of just moving on. There is NOONE that has been used as a slave in our generation, so there is NOONE who is "OWED" anything for it. That is how it is seen. And blacks are just as much "predators" as whites. In fact there are way more blacks in prisons for rape than any other race. So get your facts straight next time would ya?

oh and food for thought young man, we ALL come from the exact same sludge in Africa so you are actually from the same family tree as those white people you hate so incredibly much.

Hardly any whites or blacks say that, that i know anyway. All of that hasnt got anything to do with race, thats only economics and human greed - any race would of done that. Not only whites benefit from the greed of their ancestors - many people of other races (including you i presume) are reaping those benefits as you sit in your cosy house on that computer.

The irony of your stupidity is, if every HUMAN on Earth were to be held accountable for what their ANCESTORS did in the PAST, we ALL would owe EVERYONE something. Unfortunately, you know VERY little about world history, and know nothing about ANCIENT history.

I wish I COULD relate to getting everything handed to me without having to work for it, but that is so far from the white mans ETHICS, that I can't. I don't know HOW you think we do go to school, get jobs, and pay for things, but it sure isn't by selling drugs, looting, or sucking off the Government. WHO pays the taxes that keeps YOU alive? Because when you say YOU took land, you mean people we don't even know from landowners you don't even know. So to think YOU are owed something is funny to some of us. In fact, when you say we are reaping the rewards of our ancestors, you do not realize, many of our ancestors were not here in the time of slavery, and have no connection to it. But that doesn't matter to you, because everyone owes you something right. We must all be reaping rewards that we did not work for...because that helps you sleep at night.

Need a tissue? Africans, not 'black people' as an ignorant person says, were slaves in africa when slave traders from Europe, note---the Spanish were the most brutal of slave traders. Most of the africans that were brought to the west 400+ years ago were traded by their slave owners/..so called kings of africa for European technology and so that the royals wouldn't be harmed by the mighty Ones from the north. When the Dutch decimated Shaka Zulus 30,000+ranks in the famous 300+firearms..vs30,000w/spears and arrows, the african continent was shaken and divided into many factions vying for control....Gods will be done. Oh, and the mexicans lost the war. In that war, 'whites and blacks' fought together against the mejicans. Gods will be done. You were never a slave, most of your ancestors that were, would be sickened by the way their descendants, you and yours, are a bunch of whiners, thieves, a drug addicts...Gods will be done.
