If Melo would end up in Portland they'd probably give up a number of draft picks, Rudy Fernandez, Jared Bayless and another young player like Dante Cunningham. That means the Blazers starting lineup would be Andre Miller, Brandon Roy, Carmelo Anthony, LaMarcus Alrdige, and Greg Oden. That's a pretty beast starting lineup if you ask me, and they could definitely contend with the Lakers because they have Oden and Pryzbilla to match up with Bynum and Gasol. And then you're talking about Brandon Roy and Melo playing side by side, two of the elite players in the NBA. They could beat the Heat too cause they have a defensive answer for all three star players there, and the Bulls would be a challenge because the Derrick Rose-Andre Miller matchup would not work, he simply cant match Rose' quickness but overall I think Portland would win that game and have a very good shot and taking the championship.

Possibly the Clippers, they need a small forward. Knicks are VERY unlikely this year but I know he would love to go there. There are a lot of possibilities, but if he leaves Denver, it will likely help the Lakers and the Thunder (in my opinion, the best teams in the west) because his presence alone will not significantly better any other team. A guy who averages 28 a game needs some time to blend into his new team, no matter which team it happens to be.

Even if it did not cost them a thing I would still say they are not top 4. I do not have the Bulls in the top 4 either.
1 and 2- Heat and Lakers
3 and 4- Orlando and Boston
5- Mavs
6- Nuggets or Portland with Melo
7- Thunder
