Were African Americans really doing better before dessegration?

Blacks weren't doing "better" per se. Rather, Blacks were more independent and more goal and family oriented during the segregation, because that was the only way to survive.

Prior to segregation, Blacks had their own supermarkets, barber shops, restaurants, record labels, and just about every other business imaginable. While the Black equivalents were generally of poorer quality because they had to deal with worse conditions, the fact of the matter was that blacks generally still controlled the neighbourhoods they lived in and managed to eke out a somewhat decent living given the obstacles they had to face.

What happened post-segregation was that there was a rapid rise in the standard of living of some Blacks, and it led to them moving out of Black neighbourhoods and into middle class White neighbourhoods. The effect that the flight of the Black middle class had on the Black neighbourhoods in general was highly negative, since it resulted in the loss of many black businesses. White-owned businesses still largely discriminated when it came to hiring, so it became difficult for Blacks to find jobs since there were no Black businesses to work for, and the only jobs they could find working for Whites were menial positions. This led to the rise of the drug trade, and the eventual creation of gangs and organised crime within the Black community.

Food for thought: Prior to 1960, most organised crime in America was controlled by Whites, and most prisoners in this country were White. Today, while most drug users and dealers are White, the overwhelming majority of people imprisoned on drug charges are Black and Hispanic, and the majority of people involved in organised crime are people of colour. But it wasn't desegregation that did this. Rather, it was a need for the Black middle class to live among Whites rather than clean up their own neighbourhoods which led to the rapid downward spiral of the Black working class.

When black people were segregated, they didn't have many privileges compared to whites. It was hard for them to get jobs or attend schools.

The Civil Rights movement was a GREAT thing!

And to answer your other question, I've never heard of majority black towns being burned down. However, lynching was common.

Blacks under segreation were doing better under poorer standards. Meaning that they were surpassing the crap they were given to work with.

Again, why is Africa and all places Africans go so crappy, or full of crime, or poor. It's always bad. It can't be that everyone is out to get them. This isn't some type of youtube conspiracy people. Their societies are bad because of them.

If you gave blacks full autonomy of a large independent state like say Illinois, Cali, Texas it would turn into an absolute HELLHOLE of death and madness in weeks. And to the schmuck below me. if there was a black independent state that had been established and allowed to function under blacks you would have to be dragged in their KICKING, SCREAMING and begging not to go in there and YOU KNOW IT LOL
