I have a visitor from out of town who wants to go fishing at the Belmont Pier in Long Beach. I need to know i?

There aren't any places in Belmont Shore or Shoreline Village that rent gear. Alfredo's Beach Club operates both of the snack shack/rental booths and they only offer bikes, kayaks, surreys and paddle boat rentals. At least you don't need a license to fish from the pier.

Long Beach Sportfishing rents gear. They are in the Port of Long Beach off of Pico at Berth 55.

They could go out on one of the sportfishing boats that leaves Berth 55 in Long Beach or just take their gear to the pier if that's allowed.

At Berth 55 is a really good seafood restaurant called Berth 55 Fish Market & Seafood Deli. It's right next to where the fishing boats come in and the seafood is fresh and inexpensive. You eat outside on picnic tables next to the boats. Lots of atmosphere.
