How to make my normal keyboard work?

I have an hp desktop with a wireless keyboard and all. The problem is when i try to plug in a normal keyboard replacing the wireless one it doesn't work. What do i do? :-|

    Re-boot your PC, and Windows will find the wired keyboard, as long as the wireless keyboard's USB transceiver is also unplugged.
