I just went through the same thing a few months ago. I did some research and so far, a few things have helped. I have been eating yogurt every day... doctors believe the live cultures found in yogurt help prevent yeast infections. It's summer -- it's hot -- in turn, you get hot down there and that mixed with any kind of moisture is perfect ground for a yeast infection to start. That said, When I get home from work, I immediately change into another pair of panties. Also, only wipe from front to back and never wipe a second time with the same tissue and/or the area of the tissue you just wiped with. I also read that if you get a yeast infection, you can get it again if you don't sanitize your panties (not just washing them). After my last infection, I just bought new panties... so far, after following all of those ideas, I have not gotten another one. I live in Florida... it's hot and humid right now so another thing I have done, is wear a panty liner during the time of my cycle that I have some discharge and change it very frequently... especially if I'm outside and sweating a lot. Also, when you treat the yeast infection, be sure to treat it completely (use all three applications for example if your treating it with a three-time application). One last thing, after you have sex, try to go pee! Hope these help you the way they have helped me. Yeast infections are no fun!

Personally I think if anything it can cause one. If the conditions of the vagina are already that she's on the verging of getting a yeast infection, I think that sex just agitiates it and can bring it along quicker. There are some people who believe that having sex in a way 'rubs' the bacteria in, basically causing the yeast infection. The idea is to balance out the vagina and the body to prevent yeast infections, so I don't thinkt hat making it more acidic is necessarily the answer, a balance between the two needs to be found.

Oh Ouchy :x I'm 16 right now and I got mine at 15 also with a Urinary tract infection at the same time so I was misrable >_> So They gave me antibiotics for my yeast infection. I haven't had one sence...Iv been trying to avoid it as much as possible x.x Try to Always wipe from front to back after a bowel movement to prevent the yeast which normally inhabits the intestinal tract from being transferred to the vaginal area.

Eating one cup of yogurt a day helps some women to prevent the yeast infections that often follow antibiotic treatment; however, eating yogurt will not cure a yeast infection Sadly >_>

Don't use perfumed bath products or powders in the vaginal area, these can cause irritations which can lead to infection. Also If your clothes become wet or damp, change into dry clothes as quickly as possible. It even helps to wear Wear underwear with a cotton panel at the crotch. DO NOT I repeat lol DO NOT use scented tampons, scented powders, douches, or feminine deoderant sprays. This will really cause one. Good luck ok? Hope I helped you at least some! =)

Yeast infections can be caused by a lot of different things. Thong underwear are a no-no. Try to wear cotton panties (if any) and make sure to change out of damp underclothes or swimwear as soon as possible. If you feel just a little itching or discomfort, you can purchase a small container of plain organic yogurt and insert this into your vagina with your finger or a tampon right before you go to bed. The bacteria in the yogurt help even out the pH level in your vagina. If you stay away from thongs, really tight pants, and prolonged dampness, the infections should at least be less frequent. The yogurt technique usually clears my yeast infection symptoms within 12 hours. Good luck!
