The Seven Deadly Sins - their Musical Equivalents?

A few weeks ago, I was watching Master Chef on TV, and each contestant had to create something edible inspired by one of the Seven Deadly Sins - which involved a real pushing of the creative boundaries.

My task is for you to take each of the Sins, and supply a musical work that you think corresponds best - and tell us why.

The Seven Deadly Sins are: Wrath, Greed, Sloth, Pride, Lust, Envy and Gluttony.

Have fun, and I'll provide my own list when I choose Best Answer!

Update:

Awwwww come on, people - it's not THAT difficult a question, surely? Just put down the first pieces you can think of! It's meant to be fun, not serious :o)

Update 2:

Mr. Jones - a wonderful eclectic mix there! Love the Beethoven "Lost Penny" - very evocative! H x

Fun Question. I'll come up with some quick answers, but I expect I'm going to think there are much better choices to be made.

Wrath - Beethoven - Rage over a Lost Penny

    Greed - Rimsky-Korsakov - Scheherazade

Sloth - Charles Ives - The Unanswered Question

Pride - Elgar - Pomp and Circumstance

    Lust - Ravel - Bolero

Envy - Prokofiev - Peter and the Wolf

Gluttony - Duran Duran - Hungry Like the Wolf

... couldn't help that last one.

It's my secret, closeted indulgence to come up with micro- or macro-programmes like this! This is definitely a very unique reverse-engineering of that process...

Wrath: Third movement of Barber's piano concerto

Greed: Fugue No. 2 from Shostakovitch's Op. 87

Sloth: Fifth of Ligeti's Bagatelles for wind quintet

Pride: Third movement of Alkan's Concerto for Solo Piano

Lust: Third movement of Prokofiev's second piano sonata

Envy: Rachmaninoff Symphonic Dance No. 1

Gluttony: Polka from Stravinsky's second orchestral suite

    (sadly, can't fin on youtube)

Lust:i want you(she's so heavy) by: the Beatles- it has a nice lusty/soulful background and the few lyrics it has are suuper hot

Wrath:masters of war by: Bob Dylan- i think that this song is loaded with anger but is the last stanza that evokes a real sense of wrath

this is so hard I've been sitting hear for nearly an hour and this is all I've come up with:)
