How often should we remember death?

Imagine yourself after you pass away

Imagine your grave through night and through day

Wishing that you did not do as they say

Wishing that you had got up and had prayed.

Imagine, my friends, the day that you died

Imagine all of the tears that they cried

Remember how it felt when your body was tied

Remember how it felt in the grave which you lied.

Imagine the day you'll be called to account

Imagine the sum to which your life will amount

Think for a moment of the deeds which you mount

Think for a moment how much they will count.

What will they say of you when you are dead?

What will they say, what will be said?

Will they speak of all the poor who you fed?

Will they remember all the Qu'ran that you read?

Think not of them, but of Allah, Lord of mankind and jinn

Think of Allah when tempted to sin

Think of the paradise which you will dwell in

Don't wait till later to think what might have been.

death is coming at a speed that we can not imagine and we should remember death all the time but the truth is we only remember death when someone close to us dies and then we forget about it after a few days.

I'm sorry, I didn't read the whole, poem, because I feel that we should remember death of loved ones and those we respect, but we also have to move on in life, however painful this may be. I have lost family members and have been quite affected by it. I have thought about what my input was in their life and whether I did things right. At the same time I don't want their passing away to fill my life, or hold me down, and I know they wouldn't want this from me either.

i remember death every time there is silence, i think of what Allah will say to me, or if i have done enough in this world, also it kinda freaks me out cuz i heard somewhere that the angel of death visits you five times a day.

That's a great poem, the rhyme, subject and everything. Did you write it?

And I think of death when I remember those I lost.

Death is nonexistence. After I die, there won't be a "me" to have to "account" to anyone for anything. That's why I try to deal with things while I'm alive, and can actually do something.

    Nothing real requires faith.
