How do I totally wipe my Hard Drive, my laptops broken.?
Hello there, can someone tell me how I can fix this problem without forking out $$$ for it.
I'm going to buy a 2.5" SATA enclosure tomorrow, and I'd like to know, how can I wipe the hard drive blank or back to factory condition seeing as my laptop is unoperational.
I've ordered a MacBook Pro so I need to get my old laptop files over using an Enclosure, BUT i'm going to need to sell my old laptop + hard drive so is there anyway I can delete or reset my hard drive.
For example, when I plug in the enclosure, could I click 'C:/' then highlight the folders like 'Users','Program Files','System' and just hit delete and be done with it?
Thanks.
BTW, it's a HP Touchsmart TX2-1015AU.
320GB SATA HDD, 2GB Ram, 2.2GHz Turion X2.
Please also note, the restore files are on the hard drive or secondary one, is there anyway I can protect these when I format it so Vista can be restored on there?

Download dan's boot and nuke. Just google it. This will wipe the hard drive to a state that nothing can be recovered from it.
Erasing the contents from windows does not erase the content on the drive. It can still be recovered with the right software.

Your question poses many more issues that must be explained before you ca get an answer/ As far as saving files and formatting a disk, IMPOSSIBLE.
Formatting wipes out everything.
